....and the weather is so unpredictable! It has been very hot on several of those days, breaking a record and it has been very rainy and wet the other days...very wet & humid!
Makes for sultry sticky days and lots and lots of generations of mosquitos all attacking at once!
But that is the weather in Alberta, they say, wait five minutes and it will change. Promises to be hot and humid for the majority of the third week of July......
So...it is Rose time, and lily's are beginning to burst out. Everything is so lush and green, and the weeds......oh my gosh! the weeds.....but they are easy to pick or hoe which ever your method is.
I do not like to use a pesticide to handle the weeds. I do have 'kill-x' on hand in the event something becomes a real irritant, rarely use it though. My method is a long handled U-hoe and a helper to pick where I cannot reach....works for me and all gardens should have weeds......makes it a challenge!
Almost all completed as far as building goes for the new site area. From here on it will be the outdoor area to consentrate on and that will evolve over time. Trees to plant, wood to chip, dry trees to cut into wood burning logs.
The plan is to place a small little design pond in along with a 'dry creek bed' (not sure it will be dry with this kind of weather happening) All the fun things will take place from now on...
A building is a building, is a building......a necessary part of a venue area.....now to add the focus points.........color.........living beings........wildlife.......birds.......butterflys.........etc...etc...
I had intended on placing more mature trees in and around the area, but I truly enjoy placing little twigs....per/se.....and watching them take hold and make it their home. I believe you have a happier 'plant' when it fits itself into the space. Down the road, I may bring in larger items...but for now it will be the 'seedling'.

July is a color month. All things are blooming or preparing to bloom. Those that were spring bloomers still have the beauty attached to the main stems either as a fruit, flower or seed and that adds to the life of a garden.
